So Low

Paul Jacob on the curious case against Trump.

“I have to admit: none of this is playing out like I thought it would,” Fareed Zakaria told viewers of his CNN program last weekend.

“Trump is now leading in almost all the swing states,” Zakaria noted, adding that he is “someone worried about the prospects of a second Trump term.”

The host’s opening monologue on Fareed Zakaria: GPS went on, complaining that, “The trials against [Trump] keep him in the spotlight, infuriate his base — who see him as a martyr and even may serve to make him the object of some sympathy among people in general who believe that his prosecutors are politically motivated.”

Leave it to the Democrats to turn Mr. Trump into a sympathetic figure … with Zakaria then agreeing that these prosecutions are politically motivated.

“This happens to be true, in my opinion. I doubt the New York indictment would have been brought against a defendant whose name was not Donald Trump.”

And Fareed is not alone, even at CNN, where Elie Honig also acknowledged that, had the prosecution been brought in a less rabidly Democrat area than New York City, “there’s no chance of a conviction.”

No statement is more compelling in a court of law than what is known as a statement against interest, the admission of facts that do not serve the person so conceding or that person’s side. That’s what we now witness … as even CNN commentators recognize that the former president is being politically railroaded.

No one is above the law. That phrase loses some punch, however, when “the law” sinks so low.

This is Common Sense. I’m Paul Jacob.

Yup. Not yet explicit but certainly implicit in these admissions is that those at the commanding heights of our cultural and their many useful idiots have, in their ostensible effort to protect democracy, greatly undermined what remained of democracy.

The prevailing system of was already terribly corrupt, and seemingly irrecoverably so; but in the last four years it has been transformed into something like a banana republic on steroids.

Finally, after two years, CNN is recognizing the motivation for these indictments. Don’t believe them for an instant. They’re just holding a finger up to see which way the wind is blowing. They might host a debate next month between Trump and Biden. Must-miss TV.

Watching the NY trial closely, the witnesses, what they allowed to testify to, the clear irrelevance to the charge and it’s incendiary nature coupled with the judge’s rulings as to the allowed testimony and the exclusive gag order has proved to me beyond any doubt this is a politically motivated show trial.
As an legal professional Trump’s bombast originally offended me due to my respect for the judicial system but that, at least in this case, no longer exists and likely applies to the other cases against him as well.
Trump’s reaction and comment is justified and correct. I am horrified and concerned.
There has been doubling down of the lawfare by the DNC which is running the Biden administration’s policies which reverse most of the policies the Biden personally held for his decades-long political career. He is a tabla blanca, reading scripts on the teleprompter authored by persons and powers in the bowels of the DNC.
I have come to the conclusion that Trump is justified, and the present best bet if the Republic’s future.
