Freedom is essentially a condition of inequality, not equality. It recognizes as a fact of nature the structural differences inherent in man — in temperament, character, and capacity — and it respects those differences. We are not alike and no law can make us so.

He states an absolute, we are not all alike. Two of my brothers could run faster, but couldn’t change a light bulb. No value was placed on the differences except what served a particular situation practically at some time.
However, we should all be treated as equal under the law (in an ideal world not yet in existence) in that the law treats all the same. Money buys better lawyers, but except for that we should all be the same.
I’d like to continue thinking that we can achieve a place a bit closer to the ideal but I do recognize Utopia can only exist in the mind simply because we all “are not equal” in every aspect.
