So, Paul, here’s a semi-rhetorical question: If the American left rejects the various principles espoused in the Declaration, denounces the motives of its authors and signers, and sometimes even insists that the purpose of the Revolution were to preserve slavery, then shouldn’t they demand that America reunite with the British Empire?
