Shaw

We have no more right to consume happiness without producing it than to consume wealth without producing it.

George Bernard Shaw, Candida (1894).

One reply on “Shaw”

Shaw was a socialist, but not of the egalitarian sort. For example, he proposed euthanizing people incapable of production. His conceit was that some battery of experts could measure value. That conceit informs all socialisms; it is an error at the heart of socialism.
