Last week, I ventured into Washington for an important event, hoping not to get sick from the coronavirus swirling around the globe.
Nearly 200,000 people in 142 countries have been infected with COVID-19 and 7,866 have already died.
“Both SARS and COVID-19 … appear to have emerged from animals in China’s notorious wildlife markets,” explains a Vox video. “Experts had long predicted that these markets, known to be potential sources of disease, would enable another outbreak.”
In fact, I did become ill in our nation’s capital — sick to my stomach.
Not from the virus, but from a new report by the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation “address[ing] the failure of institutions and governments to come to terms with 14-year-old allegations of forced organ harvesting from prisoners of conscience in China.”
With the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) waging genocides against Falun Gong practitioners and now Uighurs, they are abundantly rich in such lucrative national resources.
Susie Hughes, initiator of the China Tribunal, announced its unanimous conclusion that “forced organ harvesting has been committed for years throughout China on a significant scale.”
And continues to this day.
“The source of the organs for transplant are a living population,” Rep. Chris Smith (R‑NJ) emphasized, “kept alive like some form of livestock until their organs are needed.”
Recently, in “All the Tyranny in China,” I tried to detail the myriad ‘crimes against humanity’ committed by the Chinese Communist Party. Sadly, I just couldn’t get to them all.
I forgot to mention that the CCP will also gladly sell you the fresh organ of some currently incarcerated prisoner of conscience. At a bargain price.
This is Common Sense. I’m Paul Jacob.

The allegations are more than 14 years old. I remember writing an article that mentioned them at least as early as the mid-90s. Thankfully, the article was never published (it was pretty Buchananite and a certain editor at Liberty talked me off the ledge).
That’s not quite accurate. The first allegations are 14 years old, but there is very credible evidence that the CCP continued to harvest organs from death penalty prisoners. China has ADMITTED harvesting organs from executed prisoners as late as 2015. They have never admitted to harvesting organs from Falun Gong practitioners or Uighurs — though there is tremendous evidence of it and a complete refusal to address or be transparent about those crimes against humanity by the CCP.
I urge you and others to look at the links below (and more info linked in the commentary) and make an independent judgement. Sorry to post so much but I want folks to have enough to consider.

Nat’l Review: China Accused of Harvesting Organs of Uighurs, Falun Gong Religious Group
September 26, 2019

China maintains that it ceased using organs from executed prisoners in 2015.
Waiting times in China for an organ transplant are extremely low, leading patients from overseas to seek treatment there. The tribunal charges that under Chinese organ donation laws, the supply of organs on the market should be much lower than it currently stands if all the donations are voluntarily given.
China is concurrently accused of human rights violations with regard to the Uighur minority. Reports from the Xinjiang region, home to the Uighur population, indicate that China has arrested around one million Uighur citizens and placed them in political and religious re-education camps.

NBC News: China forcefully harvests organs from detainees, tribunal concludes
»> China’s organ transplant trade is worth $1 billion a year, according to a tribunal. This story contains details some may find distressing.

LONDON — The organs of members of marginalized groups detained in Chinese prison camps are being forcefully harvested — sometimes when patients are still alive, an international tribunal sitting in London has concluded.
Some of the more than 1.5 million detainees in Chinese prison camps are being killed for their organs to serve a booming transplant trade that is worth some $1 billion a year, concluded the China Tribunal, an independent body tasked with investigating organ harvesting from prisoners of conscience in the authoritarian state.
“Forced organ harvesting has been committed for years throughout China on a significant scale,” the tribunal concluded in its final judgment Monday. The practice is “of unmatched wickedness — on a death for death basis — with the killings by mass crimes committed in the last century,” it added.
In a statement released alongside the final judgment, the tribunal said many of those affected were practitioners of Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that China banned in the 1990s and has called an “evil cult.” The tribunal added that it was possible that Uighur Muslims — an ethnic minority who are currently being detained in vast numbers in western China — were also being targeted.

BBC: China to stop harvesting executed prisoners’ organs
Dec. 4, 2014
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-30324440
China has promised to stop harvesting organs from executed prisoners by 1 January, state media report.
It has said for many years that it will end the controversial practice. It previously promised to do so by November last year.
Death row inmates have long served as a key source for transplants.
China has been criticised for taking their organs without consent, but has struggled to encourage voluntary donations due to cultural concerns.
Prisoners used to account for two-thirds of transplant organs, based on previous estimates from state media.
For years, China denied that it used organs from executed prisoners and only admitted to the practice a few years ago.
The Chinese authorities put more prisoners to death every year than the rest of the world combined — an estimated 2,400 people in 2013 — according to the San Francisco-based prisoners’ rights organisation, Dui Hua.

WaPost: China used to harvest organs from prisoners. Under pressure, that practice is finally ending.
Sept. 15, 2017

China’s organ-transplant system was once a cause of international scorn and outrage, as doctors harvested organs from prisoners condemned to death by criminal courts and transplanted them into patients who often paid dearly for the privilege.
After years of denials, China now acknowledges that history and has declared that the practice no longer occurs — largely thanks to the perseverance of a health official who, with the quiet backing of an American transplant surgeon, turned the system around over the span of a decade.
»>
The turn toward reform began in 2006, when Huang was the first to publicly acknowledge an open secret in the medical industry — that prisoners’ organs were the basis of the nation’s fast-growing transplant industry.
»>
Chinese law does not explicitly rule out using organs of prisoners condemned to death by the criminal courts, and Huang himself was quoted in Chinese media in late 2014 and early 2015 as saying prisoners could “voluntarily” donate organs.
Huang now disavows those comments, insisting there is “zero tolerance” for using any prisoners’ organs in the hospital system. But in a country of 1.3 billion people, he said at a Vatican conference in February, “I am sure, definitely, there is some violation of the law.”
Lawyer Yu Wensheng said that one of his clients had shared a Beijing prison cell with a man facing the death penalty last November and that the condemned man was given a form to sign to “voluntarily” donate his organs.
Death-row prisoners, he said, were “given the choice not to sign the forms, but they would receive much more mistreatment and suffer much more. If they sign, their last days of life would pass more easily.”

China Bends Vow on Using Prisoners’ Organs for Transplants
Nov. 16, 2015
https://www.nytimes.com/2015/11/17/world/asia/china-bends-vow-using-prisoners-organs-for-transplants.html
BEIJING — When a senior Chinese health official said last year that China would stop using prisoners’ organs for transplants as of Jan. 1, 2015, human rights advocates and medical professionals around the world greeted the announcement with relief.
It seemed to end a decades-long form of human exploitation in which hundreds, perhaps thousands, of organs of executed prisoners were harvested each year.
But organs from prisoners, including those on death row, can still be used for transplants in China, with the full backing of policy makers, according to Chinese news reports, as well as doctors and medical researchers in China and abroad. “They just reclassified prisoners as citizens,” said Huige Li, a Chinese-born doctor at the University of Mainz in Germany.
December’s announcement by Huang Jiefu, a former deputy health minister and chairman of the National Health and Family Planning Commission’s Human Organ and Transplant Committee, was “an administrative trick,” said Dr. Otmar Kloiber, the World Medical Association secretary general.
