Know Your Rights

Sharing

For years, politicians and activists have declared that we have a right to medical care. Not a right to freely contract for medical services, mind you, but a fundamental right to medical care.

This assertion serves as the moral force behind those pushing for nationalized, universal health care legislation. But can medical care really be a basic right?

Well, it’s nowhere to be found in the Constitution or the Bill of Rights.

Should it be?

Again, no.

Rights cannot involve requiring others to provide a product or service to us. We can’t simply demand, with talk of rights, the expertise and labor of doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers. Why? Because they possess the same rights we possess, in particular, the right not to be enslaved.

Watching the 2,000-page health care bill plod through the congressional sausage factory, the fraudulent nature of this “right to medical care” claim becomes painfully obvious. We’re not getting a new right from the deal. Instead, politicians are slapping us with a new mandate, forcing us to fork over our hard-earned money to health insurance companies.

If our right to freedom of speech worked this way, the First Amendment would mandate that we buy a local newspaper and sign up for cable TV or XM Radio. The Second Amendment would force us to own a gun and pay dues to the NRA.

This is Common Sense. I’m Paul Jacob.

When in Hell are the people gonna wake up to the fact that it is the careerists in Congress who are letting our country go to hell???
The following is our ONLY salvation:

The only infallible, unstoppable, guaranteed way to get a truly new Congress is :
NEVER REELECT ANY INCUMBENT! AND DO IT EVERY ELECTION!

The American voter must IMPOSE term limits by NEVER REELECTING ANYONE IN CONGRESS, AND DO IT EVERY ELECTION! In other words, don’t let anyone serve more than one term. That’s the only way to teach them that the voter is boss! The “one term limit” can be eased AFTER citizens get control of Congress.

Congress will never allow us to constitutionally term limit them by an amendment. Our only choice is to NEVER REELECT them. All of them!

The number of ‘good guys’ left in Congress is negligible, so if we threw ALL 535 members out, we wouldn’t do as much damage as the good we would gain by turning Congress into a bunch of honest, innocent freshmen.

Some of the reasons in favor of this approach:

• It gives us a one-term-limited Congress without using an amendment
• It encourages ordinary citizens to run for Congress
• It is supported by 70% of the country (see Rasmussen and Cato polls)
• It is completely nonpartisan
• If repeated, it ends career politicians in Congress
• It opens the way to a “citizen Congress” of guys like you and me
* It would open a torrent of fresh ideas to improve our government
• It ends the seniority system that keeps freshmen powerless
• It doesn’t cost money. But you MUST vote! Just don’t vote for an incumbent
• It takes effect immediately on Election Day
• It is the only infallible, unstoppable, guaranteed way to “Throw the Bums Out”
• When the ‘pros’ stop running, ordinary citizens will run, and win
• If it doesn’t work, do it again and again! It will work eventually, without a doubt.

NEVER REELECT ANYONE IN CONGRESS. AND DO IT EVERY ELECTION!

I have been living in France which has a great system of healthcare for all/ cheap drugs a fifth of the USA. Here we got a bloated health care bill with no public option and no cheap drugs. Yes, we should have health care for all. but not a give away to private insurance at bloated prices and a give away to the drug companies. We need a real system like France has. There people see any doctor they like and are happy and don’t fear an illness wiping them out.

At some point in his checkered past (a Nixon reference for you young whippuh snappuhs), Obama taught Constitution law, I understand.

Apparently, he taught it to sit up and beg.

Then again, he may have been boning up on ways to get around it: “If I don’t see you, you’re not really there.”

Meanwhile, the elephant in the room is wondering why Obama simply doesn’t grasp reality.

The other elephants are still trying to decide whether to be faux democrats or conservatives. Conservatives, with the tea partiers’ support, are winning elections… and in the strangest places!

The big question: Hmmm… should we follow the successful… or simply do the same old crap and hope it comes back into fashion?

Sadly, the elephants have a lot of experience and knowledge in the field of waffling and screwing the pooch, so we must hope that the average American will wake up and realize what’s going on…yet again!

Yes, this does happen once in a blue moon, but it’s never a great bet. Demand points.
