Alexander Hamilton

A day that will live in infamy.

On September 11, 1789, Alexander Hamilton was appointed the first United States Secretary of the Treasury.

The date marks quite a few other, perhaps more memorable, events, too. But few Cabinet selections were more consequential to United States history than President George Washington’s appointment of Hamilton.

One reply on “Alexander Hamilton”

I would not put very much faith and/or trust in central-statist, big-government loving, central bank-sold-on, Hamilton. Coming from a Huguenot background he should have known better. In fact, how old was he in 1787? Twenty-two or so? Maybe only 20. Educated I’m sure but mis-educated. Probably mainly by Kant. And by London bankers. Not by Locke, who after all was fundamentally pro-Christian.
